Nominations Open for the 2024 Signatures of Loudoun Program

The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2024 Signatures of Loudoun Program. This prestigious initiative recognizes the buildings and public spaces that reflect outstanding design, renovation, adaptive reuse, and visually groundbreaking projects throughout the county.

Signatures of Loudoun is sponsored by the Loudoun County Design Cabinet, an all-volunteer, award-winning group of professional architects, planners, and engineers. Since 2003, the Design Cabinet has promoted high-quality ecological, urban, architectural and landscape design in Loudoun County.

“As Loudoun continues growing as a commercial destination, it’s important to the Loudoun economy that our business facilities look inviting to customers and feel comfortable for employees,” says Loudoun Economic Development Executive Director Buddy Rizer. “Innovative design in our commercial structures helps make Loudoun a great place to live, work, play and learn.”

Al Gooden, Chair of the Design Cabinet, added, “Good design is good business. Beyond creating visually appealing spaces, thoughtful design enhances functionality, efficiency, and user experience. Investing in good design isn’t just an expense; it’s an invaluable strategy for creating spaces that inspire, engage, and drive success.”

Loudoun organizations can self-nominate, and brokers, developers and architects are also welcome to nominate their clients or projects. Those interested in applying for the 2024 Signatures of Loudoun Program should submit their applications online by 5:00pm, Monday, April 8, 2024.

There is no cost to submit a nomination. Winners will be announced at an awards presentation during a Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Business Meeting in June 2024, followed by a celebratory reception.
