This paper by Leonor F. Costa, António Henriques and yours truly, recently published in the European Review of Economic History (and previously referred to here), was announced at the European Historical Economics Society (EHES) congress in Germany last week to have won the Figuerola Prize given by the EHES for the best article published in the European Review of Economic History in the previous two years.
