Small Business is a BIG Deal in Loudoun County

Small business isn’t just a side story in Loudoun County, it’s the headline. We’re proud to celebrate small business everyday and during Small Business Week, we double down on those efforts.

Every day, the team at Loudoun Economic Development works side by side with entrepreneurs, risk takers, and job-makers to ensure that small businesses have the resources they need to grow and thrive in Loudoun County. With over 163,000 small business employees powering our local economy, it’s evident that Loudoun’s entrepreneurial community is one of the strongest in Virginia. Small businesses create jobs, drive innovation, and build the strong, diverse communities that make Loudoun such a desirable place to live and work. And in this county, small business support starts at the top.

This week, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is joining us as we hit the road, visiting small businesses and connecting with entrepreneurs. These visits aren’t simply symbolic, they’re part of a larger, ongoing effort to ensure our county leadership remains engaged and informed when it comes to the needs of our small business community. Some of these visits include:

Ayrshire Farm, Abernethy & Spencer Greenhouse & Garden Center, and Brookfield Dairy Farm are also official stops on the 2025 Loudoun Spring Farm Tour on May 17 and 18.

The support goes far beyond talk. We’re putting resources into action with major initiatives designed to equip Loudoun’s small businesses with real opportunities for growth:

• The Loudoun Small Business Summit is back for 2025 with expert speakers, networking opportunities, and key takeaways to inspire entrepreneurs. This summit is designed to help small businesses start, scale, and soar.
• GovConnect 2025 is the premier space for small businesses to connect directly with government agencies and procurement officers. Whether you’re new to government contracting or ready to take it to the next level, GovConnect delivers real value.
• Through the Loudoun Resilience Initiative, we continue to offer strategic support and resources to help small businesses remain adaptive, future-focused, and positioned for long-term success.
• Launch Loudoun, a program of Loudoun Economic Development, provides experiences and services for Loudoun entrepreneurs through the entire lifecycle of their small business, whether they are ready to start, scale, or soar, targeting the core focus areas of entrepreneurial business growth.

Our message is loud and clear: Loudoun County is all in on small business.
