2-year predoctoral position in Economic History at the Arthur Lewis Lab for Comparative Development

 Salary: £30 to 35K per year. Work in a research project concerning African economic history & political economy, working with Hélder Carvalhal, Soeren Henn, Nuno Palma, and James A. Robinson.

You will be responsible for data survey and collection in Portugal (Lisbon area) and, sporadically, in Angola (nearby Luanda). This position is ideal for candidates with plans to pursue future doctoral studies in economic history, historical political economy.

Note that knowledge of written Portuguese and palaeography is required. It is also desirable that the candidate has an interest in the history of Africa.

This position is ideal for those wishing to then continue to doctoral studies (possibly at the UoM, or elsewhere.)
