Loudoun County Celebrates 20 Years of Design Excellence with the 2025 Signatures of Loudoun Awards – Call for Nominations Now Open

Loudoun County, VA – February 24, 2025 – The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development and the Loudoun Design Cabinet are proud to announce the call for nominations for the 2025 Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Awards. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Signatures of Loudoun program honors the most exceptional and inspiring architectural, interior, and public space designs that shape Loudoun’s evolving landscape.

The program invites nominations from residents, developers, architects, and business owners who wish to highlight a project that represents design excellence in Loudoun County. From historic renovations and intricate details to innovative infrastructure and groundbreaking new designs, Signatures of Loudoun celebrates the vision and craftsmanship that enhance Loudoun’s built environment.

“For two decades, Signatures of Loudoun has recognized projects that define and elevate the character of our county,” said Buddy Rizer, Executive Director of Loudoun Economic Development. “As Loudoun continues to grow and evolve, great design remains a cornerstone of our identity. We encourage the community to submit nominations and help us honor the places and spaces that make Loudoun extraordinary.”

The award categories for 2025 include:

• Details: Unique finishing touches that bring a project to life and honor Loudoun’s history.
• Contextual Design: New construction that seamlessly blends with its surrounding environment.
• Infrastructure: Exceptional design in public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and utilities.
• Interiors: Innovative and inspiring interior spaces across residential, commercial, and public-sector structures.
• Historic Renovation: Adaptive reuse and historic preservation that honors Loudoun’s past while shaping its future.
• Pace Setters: Contemporary projects that are pushing boundaries and setting trends for future design.
• Public Spaces: Well-designed public gathering places, from greens and plazas to trails and streetscapes.
