Congratulations to the winners, which including Joel Mokyr, “for having identified the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress”. This follows several other recent economics laureates who did work with an historical dimension, including Bernanke, Goldin, and AJR.
On a personal note, it was nice to see the Committee’s scientific background document citing my work, namely that on the reconstruction of historical national accounts, about which I’ve previously written in this blog about.
