I opened Instagram for five minutes before bed last week and closed it forty minutes later feeling like I’d missed an entire life. Someone was at a concert. Someone else had just gotten an internship offer. A girl from my school was in Bali. None of this had anything to do with me, and somehow all of it did. Around the same time, IPL tickets for a Mumbai match were reselling for eight times face value, and the thing that pushed people to pay it wasn’t the seats.
