How to Revoke a Revocable Trust in Florida

You can revoke a revocable trust in Florida by signing a written statement declaring your intention to revoke the trust. This document should include your name, the name of the trust, and a clear statement that you are revoking the trust.

You must notify the trustee in writing about the revocation. Provide them with a copy of the revocation document. If you are the trustee, this step is more straightforward, but you should still document the revocation formally.

After the trust is revoked, you must transfer the assets from the trust back to your name. You may also need to update the beneficiary designation on any financial accounts that list the trust as a death beneficiary.

You do not need to file the revocation with the county or any court.
